TV buying advice needed! LCD/LED 1080i/1080p 50hz/100hz etc.?
Looking for a TV for the front room! Got £250 of John Lewis vouchers given to me so figured i’d have a look at them. John Lewis are expensive but they are vouchers i won’t use on anything else so it makes sense. Narrowed it down to a few choices at the same sort of price. I will be watching a lot of sport and playing my xbox 360 on there a lot too! Which would you go for and why?
42 inch Samsung Plasma – £450

Its HD ready, not 1080p. It is a big screen though (and plasma not LCD, how does that affect it?) and has a 100hz refresh rate
37/40 inch LCD Samsung – £550

It’s 1080p and a lot lighter, but it’s £100 more and it’s only 50hz
32 inch Sony Bravia LCD – £550

1080p but only 50hz again. It’s smaller and £100 more than the 42inch plasma. It is a Sony Bravia though and has in-built freeview HD. I won’t be having sky so is this enough to sway the vote?
